Sat, Jan 14th, was the Blythe ATVer’s 2nd Annual Crown King Run. This year’s Crown King Run included 33 side by side vehicles filled with fun seeking riders! Our Blythe visitors turned what is usually a quiet winter weekend into a bustling good time! Thanks to all the riders who braved the cold and participated in the 2nd Annual Crown King Run. Hope to see more of our Blythe friends next year.

CROWN KING CHRISTMAS LIGHT PARADE

Crown King’s Annual Christmas Light Parade helped to ring in the Holidays in style… Crown King ‘Style’ that is! Locals & Cabin Owners decorated their rigs to brighten up the cold winter night. Floats ranged from brilliantly decorated quads to a trailer with a dancing ‘Outhouse Santa’. The children were so excited when Santa Claus arrived on a float provided by the Crown King Fire Dept. Thanks to the owners of the Crown King Saloon, Mike and Dawn Colt, for providing the children with Santa presents and lots of good cheer every year at the light parade. Many thanks to all the participants and those who braved the cold night to share this wonderful Crown King tradition!

New Jeep for a Wounded Warrior

WHEELS4WARRIORS PRESENT JEEP

TO WOUNDED VET

Wounded Veteran, Micheal Brewer, was presented with a tricked out Jeepfrom ‘Wheels4Warriors’ organization on Saturday December 3rd. Over 35 Jeeps braved the cold and snow as they traveled up the rugged trail from Lake Pleasant. Michael Brewer was wounded in Afganistan resulting in over 12 surgeries to date. When Wheels4Warriors heard that he was unable to complete his jeep project, Armondo Verdugo and his staff went to work customizing his wheels. Wheels4Warriors is a non-profit organization that helps disabled vets to meet their transportation needs. The Crown King General Store is the official distributor for W4W gear, 100% of sales go to the non-profit. Stop in for the latest W4W tee shirts & stickers. ARIZONA TRAIL RIDERS

VISIT CROWN KING

The Crown King Fire Department hosted 230 Trail Riders on Saturday, November 5th, 2011. The CK Fire Dept provided a hot lunch, warm drink and homemade apple crisp to the group of Arizona Trail Riders who converged on Crown King throughout the day. The previous night our town received the first accumulation of snow, making this year’s trail ride a bit more challenging. The riders didn’t seem bothered by the weather. Participants were having lots of fun and enjoyed their lunch break in Crown King. Thanks to CK cabin owner, Frank Staley for organizing this event and providing much needed funds for our CK Fire Dept. From all of us at the General Store, thanks to all the organizers and riders for supporting our store and our town!

Apple Festival 2011

The 6th Annual Apple Festival

The weather was perfect for the 2011 Crown King Apple Festival. Children and parents enjoyed the day at all of the family centered events. Participants were treated to hay rides, pumpkin patch, games, crafts, schoolhouse tours and bouncy house. The General Store picked several bushels of the green “Blushing Maiden” apples from the giant tree on the front porch. Kids were able to dip their apple in our Melted Homemade Butter Fudge and decorate them with their favorite toppings. Thanks to Melinda Ripley for organizing this year’s event. We hope everyone had lots of fun!!

27th ANNUAL CHILI COOK-OFF

GOT CHILI???

Crown King swelled to capacity on Saturday, October 8th, 2011. Chili lovers from all around converged on the Crown King Saloon to celebrate the 27th Annual Chili Cook-off. This year’s event was a huge success. Many thanks to Mike and Dawn Colt, the CK Saloon owners, for hosting the popular Chili Cook-off. There were 29 entries this year, all of them uniquely different. Thanks to all the contestants for participating and providing the chili tastings. We hope everyone had a wonderful time and are making plans to attend next year.

The General Store served fresh deli sandwich meal deals to our customers as they toured the Museum and Mother Lode Antique Store. The Crown King Historical Museum will be open the next two weekends from 11-4. Free Admission!!! Stop by next weekend for a Deli Sandwich Meal Deal, Cold Beer and a check out the Museum! Dip one of our General Store apples in our delicious homemade chocolate fudge! Gather up the kids and travel up to the 6th Annual Apple Festival, Saturday Oct 15th! Family fun for everyone. Golf Tourney 2011

Golf Anyone???

Crown King is host to one of the world’s most unique golf tournaments. Experience is not required for this tourney, in fact it is not even recommended! On Saturday, Oct 1st, contestants were treated to nine rough and ready holes and one of the best beer stops imaginable! Since CK has no actual golf course, the golfers travel down a steep mountain road, golfing through the forest. All proceeds benefit the Crown King Road Maintenance Association, keeping our local roads in great shape for our residents. Thanks to Tommey and Bill Burke for organizing this event. We appreciate all you do on behalf of the Crown King community. Thanks also to all the volunteers, sponsors and participants!

2011 CROWN KING FIRE DEPT AUCTION & DANCE

Crown King Fire Department hosted another successful auction and dinner dance on Saturday, Sept 17th. During this event the firehouse is transformed to an auction house and dance hall. Many local residents and cabin owners will tell you this is their favorite Crown King event. It was great fun for the entire family. Thanks to everyone who volunteered and donated to the CK Fire Department to help make this year one of their best ever.

2ND ANNUAL BLUES & BREWS

August 20th, 2011

The Crown King Road Maintenance Association held it’s 2nd annual Blues & Brews Fundraiser at the Mill’s Engine Room last night. The event hosted 127 guests who were treated to a wide range of beers, dinner and “Blues” from Crown King’s favorite, Thomas Oliver & Hotfoot. Thanks to all those who organized, volunteered and attended this year’s event. Hope you all had fun and plan to Blues It Up again next year! Thanks for helping our roads committee!

Virtual Jeep Club of Arizona’s Annual CK Run

Saturday, August 13th, our little town was flooded with jeeps! The first group of jeep club members departed from Lake Pleasant early in the morning. Throughout the day the jeeps continued to flow to Crown King. Many thanks to the organizers of this annual event! The Crown King General Store appreciates your support!
