CK Fire Dept Auction 2014

Many Thanks to all the donors & supporters of the Annual Fundraiser for the CK Fire Dept. This year’s event was a huge success! The crew and volunteers worked hard to make this event as profitable as it was FUN.
Auctioneers, Dan and Jeanna Rousch, travel every year from Tennessee to volunteer their services to Chief Lombardo and the CKFD. Along with their friends, Don & Connie Weber, the Rousch’s spent countless hours organizing and conducting the auction. The CKFD is very lucky to have the services of Dan & Jeanna for over 20 years.

Every year there are some classic items that rebound to the auction. In fact, when you bid on them you only have custody for one year, with the understanding that you must return it for the next year’s auction. Carl Schaffer & Jacalyn Lynn returned the famous ‘Velvet Lady’ painting to the CKFD. Eric & JoAnn VanCleave have the honor of hanging the ‘Velvet Lady’ in their cabin for the next year. The auctioneer fetched a good price for Herb Shepard’s big carved bear. Jeff Sims donated a custom CKFD metal sign that also was very popular. The Fireman’s Axe commemorating The 19 Yarnell Hotshot Crew that was donated ‘Anonymously’ last year, returned again this year and was purchased by Jeff Hammond from the CK USFS Station. There were wonderful items donated and the crowd delighted in the the good deals that were offered. The food was great as usual. Mark Bridiger has been the main chef for many years. Many thanks to Mark and his crew for serving up such a delicious meal.

Many thanks to everyone who contributed to the Crown King Volunteer Fire Department Annual Dinner Dance and Auction. Thanks, also, to the Bradshaw Mountain Boys who donated their talents and great music to the dinner dance. The Crown King Fire Department works hard all year to keep our mountain safe. The funds raised at the auction will help to provide much needed supplies and provisions to the department, who’s mission is “To save lives and protect the property of all residents and visitors to the Crown King area, whenever and wherever the need arises.”
